Design Director / VP Design

Values led and mission driven. My time at Ecologi saw me establish their in-house Creative Studio, help the brand grow and pivot to B2B and shape the mission of the business via my role on the SLT.

I was brought into Ecologi via recommendation at a time of rapid growth. Since being founded in 2019 the company had grown from 3 people around a kitchen table, to over 70 with a revenue of over £12.2M and customers all over the globe. With this period of growth the brand and design team needed to scale to keep up with business demands whilst helping retain its position as an industry leader. 

As part of the Senior Leadership Team I worked closely with the CEO, CPO and CMO in the development of the core platform (funding climate action) and Ecologi Zero (calculating emissions and reduction strategy). 

Working cross-functionally between the marketing, design and product teams ensured all creative direction aligned with marketing and product strategy across the full funnel, which drove acquisition, retention, revenue and ultimately, climate impact. 

As the design leader I have used my understanding of branding, design and customer behaviour with data-driven insights to refine design strategies and optimise communication in a continuous feedback loop with the rest of the business.

My role since joining has covered pretty much every aspect of design leadership from brand strategy and evolution, creative direction, product design strategy and design direction, organisational design, design thinking across the business, cross-functional collaboration, as well as getting my hands dirty with the design of business toolkits, social media content, video storyboarding, editing and animation, UI design, UX design and even a bit of presentation design.

My first steps were to establish an internal Creative Studio made up of two teams: Brand and Content, and Product Design. Within each team I made strategic hires to help the immediate business need whilst mapping the structure and capabilities of the team against the business roadmap and pivot towards B2B.
